David Kantor Completes FAA Designated Examiner Course
David Kantor of Prospect, KY and owner of UltraFlight Aviation, has been a professional aviator for 25 years.He has recently completed the week-long, Sport Pilot Examiner course provided by the FAA Light Sport Branch located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
David Kantor is now the first Designated Examiner for Powered Parachutes in Kentucky and the Kentuckiana region.David is certified to issue Student Pilot Certificates and administer the Sport Pilot Practical Test for Powered Parachutes.This new service will make UltraFlight Aviation the first, full-service Sport Pilot Center in the region by providing certified flight instruction, aircraft sales, maintenance and examiner services.
The purpose of the examiner course is to train an examiner to perform the Sport Pilot Practical Test in Special Light Sport Aircraft, as well as Experimental light-sport aircraft. Experienced pilots wishing to become light-sport examiners must first apply to the Light Sport Standardization Board. Upon selection by the board, the examiner candidates then must pass a Sport Pilot Examiner Knowledge Test and attend the week-long course in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The candidate must pass another written exam and be observed administering a Sport Pilot Practical Test before earning the Certificate of Designation.
