Frequently Asked Questions

11.  Can I train myself?

Legally, you may train yourself in a single-seat Powered Parachute that meets FAR Part 103 Regulations.  Ultralight pilots have been doing this for as long as there has been Ultralights.  Flying a Powered Parachute is relatively simple, but I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND AGAINST TRAINING YOURSELF for many reasons.  Having a qualified, professional instructor will save you time and money in the long run, as well as add a high degree of safety to your flying.

All ELSA (Experimental Light Sport Aircraft) and all SLSA (Special Light Sport Aircraft) require instruction from a qualified, FAA Certified Flight Instructor.  UltraFlight Aviation has one of the only qualified, Sport Pilot Instructors for Powered Parachutes in the region.
