Frequently Asked Questions

16.  How much room do I need for take-off and landing?

Aircraft weight, engine horsepower, weather, pilot proficiency and CONSERVATIVE, common sense come into play here.  But for two people, you will need a minimum of about 300 to 500 feet for take-off and around 50 to 200 feet to safely land.  Additionally, your approach and departure path needs to be clear of trees, power lines, houses and any other obstacles.

A good rule-of-thumb is to always have at least twice the amount of space you think you need for take-off and landing....and then add 50%!
