UltraFlight Aviation is currently the only operation in the area that offers Sport Pilot Training. All training is done to
FAA Sport Pilot Standards in a FAA Sport Pilot Powered Parachute.
The average student requires 12 to 20 flight hours to complete the training from start to finish. Depending on weather and scheduling, training can be completed in a week or two, but usually takes 4-6 weeks.
Sport Pilot Instructor rates vary between $60-$120/hour and are based on clock time. The typical flight lesson contains a 30-45 minute preflight briefing to review the lesson, a 60-75 minute flight, and a 15-30 minute post-flight briefing. Instructor costs usually are about $250-$300/lesson.
